Introducing a selection of artworks that put the viewer in touch with the real “everyday life” of the people of the region, the first exhibition of its kind ever held in Japan features paintings, sculptures, photos, films and installations by roughly 30 artists from Iraq to Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula and surrounding countries organized in three sections. This diversity of contemporary art vividly mirrors the rich multiplicity of the Arab World.

Tomoko Nagai uses a rich diversity of motifs and materials to express snapshots of an imaginary world. In her exhibition, she depicts the world of imagination and play that a child believes with all its heart. On display are paintings of subjects such as stuffed animals and dollhouses as well as three-dimensional artworks.
