Annette Messager, one of France’s leading contemporary artists, is holding her first solo exhibition in Japan. Using diverse media and materials, she has created objects and installations art that captures the viewer’s attention with a sense of everyday familiarity, and turns it to the intriguing duality of our world: the sacred and the profane, humor and terror, love and sadness, the superficial and what lies beneath. The strange yet wonderful world expressed in her art will overwhelm you.
