Spinning sound (Tsumune) project

In 2019, we invited artist Nao Nishihara to work on the theme of Roppongi, which can be seen from "sound." In the regular activities that core members we gather, life iconic sound and share the anecdotes surrounding the Roppongi Hours and, work to the collection of the sound of the day-to-day life (soundscape) Shops perform, actually from the familiar material I thought about the relationship between sound, people, and the city from various angles, such as making musical instruments. In the Tsumugu project, "Roppongi Art Night 2018" is regarded as an opportunity to convey the reality of Roppongi to many people through art, and as activities in 2018, the core members will play "Roppongi Spinning Walk" and the skit "Roppongi Spinning Walk". It was announced as a spinning project as a two-part performance art of "Daily".

"Roppongi Spinning Walk" was a performance made by a total of 22 people with the cooperation of the Roppongi Safety and Security Patrol Corps, Starbucks, Asahi Shrine, and the Roppongi Cleanup Association, in addition to the core members. Wearing a dress that expresses himself and a symbol of Roppongi, he slowly paraded while taking in the eyes of the people in the city of Roppongi while playing the tone with a bell attached to his ankle and a handmade vertical flute.

Roppongi from the starting point of Chome Roppongi Dori walk, via the Asahi Shrine, Roppongi Hills into, while also be a role, such as the Jindong shop, Roppongi became the venue of the skit "sixty-six of day-to-day," Hills Café/Space (hereinafter referred to as Hills Café) and led to the beginning of the play.
When the core member of the role of Kuroko, who was waiting at the venue, laid out a goza to serve as a seat and invited the viewers, a drama "Rokuroku no Hibi" that gave a glimpse of a dull life at Roppongi 6-chome (commonly known as Roppongi). The opening of the event was signaled by a silent knitting program. A play that conveys an episode of Roppongi's life spun from the starting point of "sound" has been completed.

Collaborate with the core members of the Tsumugu Project and individuals and groups (cleaning, patrols, etc.) involved in self-government activities to nurture a safe and secure city of Roppongi, and perform a performance that parades through the "night" and "day" areas of Roppongi. conduct. Concepts of "quietness" and "everyday / life" at the center, performance works created based on the act of walking along the lively night road of Roppongi will be developed. I dare to live in Roppongi and focus on the "quietness" of everyday life because I am deeply involved, and give up the fixed image of Roppongi (business district / noisy, inorganic, lack of nature, invisible life, etc.) Hours for thinking, it will be an opportunity to share the image of the Roppongi Hills communities with various colors. The core members of the project will give a presentation at Hills Café This presentation includes elements such as skits, sound space, images, photographs, and commentary. The two confrontations that are characteristic of the city of Roppongi are that, unlike stereotyped impressions (busy, inorganic, downtown, etc.), quiet life (business) also lives here. Communicate the daily life of Roppongi to the audience. Eventually, the everyday life and state of Roppongi expressed there will be passed on to the future, and we aim to change the way we perceive the city and to make the audience feel attached to the city.

Participating artist Nao Nishihara

Born in 1976. Focusing on sound, he is engaged in art production and performance. Interests and activators have expanded into the bodies and objects needed to make sounds, while at the same time the area of activity has expanded across art and music. Participated in domestic and international exhibitions and performance events.
