Spinning tree (Tsumuki) project

Roppongi Hills, there was a town called "Azabu Lumber Town" where many lumber dealers lived as a base for timber distribution. In the first year of the Tsumugu project, using this history as a foothold, we will share ideas such as what we want you to know about this city and what you want to convey with the 35 core members related to the city, architects Yuka Matsuno, and Keiyo Hayashi. NS. Based on a wooden structure like a float, the concept of a mobile art project was born that incorporates a recording device that gathers the thoughts of visitors about "hometown, future, dreams." This participatory work was exhibited at events held in the city such as Roppongi Hills Spring Festival 2018" and "Roppongi Art Night The voices blown by the project participants are memorized as text information and finally converted into mechanical sounds, which are emitted into the city as an unspecified number of voices as if they symbolize the city, and sound in. The stirration "Tsumuki Project" has been completed.

Production notes
Through regular activities, we incorporate artistic thinking into the Concepts of discussions that share ideas, and while running in parallel with the grand design concept for project realization, we carry out production work that actually takes shape. rice field. The production was positioned as an open day and was held on weekends, at which time we created an opportunity for non-core members who are interested in this art project to participate. After discussions on the project name, which was a tentative name at the start, the members themselves named it the "Tsumuki Project", and the concept of a mobile installation was born as a device that bundles various voices. It consists of four elements
1.The base is a structure in which more than 300 large and small wooden parts carved by everyone are assembled on a base with pulleys. Wood is not a means of making structures, but wood is a metaphor of thought, and the act of building wood with your own hands leads to the meaning of spinning their own story related to the history of the city. Different people are involved in the meaning of the work itself.
2.Inside, it can only be seen through the polarizing plate, and it looks like a magic lantern edited from a photo that symbolizes the local community brought by the core members.
3.A voice recording device for answering three questions with the theme of "hometown, future, dreams"
4.Then, the blown voice is memorized as text information and finally converted into mechanical sound, so that it is emitted into the city as an unspecified number of voices as if it symbolizes the city. Stirration.
We proceeded with the plan to include the contents. This project is events, but it is an opportunity to deepen the understanding of the Concepts that we want to convey by experiencing this activity by utilizing public places. At "Roppongi Hills Spring Festival 2018" and "Roppongi Art Night 2018", the "Spinning Project" was the trigger, and the project proceeded while always being aware that many people would participate. The core members play a central role in talking about the thoughts put into this project, talking with each other, and carefully building connections between people. This steady process born from the experience is also the real thrill of activities centered on community engagement. You can speak in your own words because it is an activity that you have created with all your soul. The final product (= dialogue device) will be an opportunity to convey what you really want to convey.
